Who are Skill Supply?
Skill Supply was founded by Dominic and Liz Surry in 2014. During their careers they have seen the benefit that good team and leadership skills has in organisations and in individuals, improving their confidence, ambition and resilience.
Using their previous experience and qualifications Dominic and Liz develop and deliver Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) workshops in order to develop these skills in a fun and interesting way.
Skill Supply use fun active learning to make their workshops memorable for all age groups from Reception to Retirement!
Dominic Surry – Director
Dominic has a 2:1 degree in Applied Biology and for 27 years he progressed in the pharmaceutical industry from Scientist to Senior Scientist then to Team leader and Associate Director. This has given him a unique insight and experience of career development, team working and leadership. Alongside this he has also been trained in, and delivered successful workshops and courses in conscious business and culture change programs.
He has worked as an RAF VR(T) (volunteer reserve) since 1995. This work has centred around youth development through experiential training, both class-based and outdoors. His current role at HQ Air Cadets is undertaking the design and delivery of a UK wide leadership programme for air cadets in the Combined Cadet Force. This course is accredited with qualifications from the Institute of Leadership and Management.
Most recently, Dominic has gained a level 3 certificate in Education and training, specialising in First Aid Training. He has also become a Low Ropes Instructor and a mobile team challenge facilitator.
Dr Elizabeth Surry – Director
Liz graduated from Bath University with a 2:1 in BSc Applied Biology and gained a PhD from Imperial College, London, in Biochemistry. She has held successful research post-doctoral positions in London, Cambridge and Reading over several years managing staff and projects.
Having recently re-trained as a secondary school teacher Liz has a PGCE in Secondary Science and as such is able to provide valuable insights into current teaching and learning practices. This is reflected in our educational work which is planned with current curriculum and strategies in mind.
Alongside her career, Liz has had several volunteer posts including running a toddler group, secretary of a PTA, a primary school governor and an assistant Beaver leader so she has experience working with a wide range ofage groups. Liz is also a qualified First Aid Instructor and Assessor.
